This WebQuest includes a task that requires students to find general information about Connecticut that could be useful to them when creating a stamp of Connecticut. I think this task is very creative and I also think students will enjoy and engage in it. They need to find things like what states border CT, what the capital of CT is, and what our state symbols are. Even though this WebQuest is geared for 2nd grade students I think I could make some changes to it so 4th grade students can use it, too.
Connecticut History WebQuest
This WebQuest is about the history of Connecticut. The students need to collect 15 facts about the history of Connecticut including historical events, historical sites, and people who were important to the history of Connecticut. I really liked how the teacher included instructions for students to use these facts and create a project with them. I also liked that she included a list of website resources for students to visit to find their information.
Exploring a Region of the United States Webquest
This Webquest is designed to have students explore a particular region of the United States. Students need to work in groups to research a region and design a poster that represents it. The teacher included great instructions, websites to use, a graphic organizer to help keep the students focused, and a rubric for assessment. I like that the students are required to work together giving them an opportunity to discuss and use the vocabulary words.
Explorers WebQuest
This WebQuest is really well done. It's laid out nicely on the website so the students can only see one part at a time. They can not get confused with what is expected of them. It also gives a lot of great sites and a lot of background building to help the students come up with their final project, a proposal for a holiday for a famous explorer of their choice.
